Me, Myself and Benzene
To protect the innocent, I’ve renamed people referred in this article to my favorite chemical compounds.
They’ve installed a section of wall around the cubicle that I share with Benzene. Its just another step to boxing us into a corner space that normally fits one person. Luckily, both me and my cubicle-mate stand no more three apples high. Sometimes, I’ll forget that I share a cubicle, and spin around in my chair real quick, only to land right in her lap. Fortunately, I don’t spin around my chair too often; I’ll only make that mistake once.
My cubicle-mate, is wonderful and quiet, something I am grateful for. She’s an elderly woman, yet she can still hack the mainframe while running her monitor at 640×480. I wonder if I’ll still be doing this when I’m 75. She seems like she should be enjoying her retirement, baking cookies for her grand kids or knitting wonderful creations. I’ve always wanted a grandmother, but never had one. Don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t be just for the cookies, but for the scarves too. Read the rest of this entry »
